Judging

All eligible short films will be uploaded to YouTube and placed into our online screening room where you’ll be able to view your film and those made by other entrants from August 15 2011.

A panel of experienced screen industry judges will select the winning short film and the four runner-ups in each category.  Judges will be looking for compelling short films that explore why the Ross Sea Antarctica is special. Criteria include a strong narrative or successful use of an experimental approach, along with creative use of the supplied footage. Other factors include overall design, the quality of editing, the use of graphics and visual effects, as well as effective incorporation of music and sound effects.

There will also be a People's Choice Prize, for the short film that gets the most hits on YouTube.

Judging will take place during Conservation Week, beginning Monday September 12 2011 and the winners will be announced on Thursday 15 September 2011.
